With a voracious appetite for oil, Husky Energy has emerged as one of Canada's largest oil and gas enterprises. The company's main energy assets are in Alberta and Saskatchewan, although it has oil and gas operations worldwide (including in China, Greenland, and Libya). In 2015 it reported net proved reserves of 1.3 billion barrels of oil and bitumen and natural gas. The firm has a 75,000-barrel-per-day heavy oil upgrader (Lloydminster) and operates or franchises 485 retail gas stations in Canada. Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing and his flagship company, CK Hutchison Holdings control Husky Energy. In 2016 the company created Husky Midstream Limited Partnership to assume ownership of some midstream assets.
